No the Daughters of Marys rituals are much differnt then most religions. They may have multiple differnet rituals they borrowed from other religions but I have never heard of a religion where they rub honey or other things into their gods or statues. --Pebbles
This is somewhat true. The daughters of Mary carry out many normal religious things such as praying to their God and such. But they also have their own original things such as tying the statue in chains and spreading honey on it. Basically every religion follows in the same path, the things that make them unique arent actually as different as you'd think. The daughters of Mary pray to a statue of Mary, while other religions pray to a holy man on a cross or towards Mecca. All religions have the same aspects, they just have different ways of portraying them.--> Phree Kookeez
Religion is just fiction... there is no god and never been... Only think that exist is UFO!!! That means that their religion is same as other because they are worshiping nothing.
yes i agree... I agree because all religions are the same in one way or another and there isnt a right religion everyone should express themselves like they want to. In the book the sisters make up there own religion because they like to express themselves differently then the rest.
True. Although the Daughters of Mary may be different than what I'm used to, it indeed is a religion. Religion can be anything a person wants to believe in and worship. The first evidence of why this is a religion was when Lily was first introduced to it in the book. She watched unknown women worshipping a statue who represented Mary. The daughters of Mary were really passionate in their worshipping. They even rubbed honey on the statue as a sign of honor just like how churches bathe their special statues in holy water. (pg. 269)It doesn't matter how you worship, the important thing is believing in something. illa namstnuh.
I agree with Pebbles. I have never heard of a religon rubbing honey over their specific god or goddess. In fact I've never heard that bizarre in any religon whcich is saying a lot. -Biggie Smallz

<<< i beilive this is tru and that many reliegions idolize one person, and culture also changes the way you worship a religion. religion is putting all your faith in one god and most religions have one god and many of the same thoughts, such as " one shall not kill" etc. to me, religion is just something to set your mind on and act like your protected. if there was a god, there would be no pain or suffering. where is your god now?
I definitely agree with Phree Kookeez. Every religion has a basic path, however they go about worshiping in different forms. For their specific religion they touch the heart of heart of the Mary statue to remember that she has a place in their hearts. Along with having Mary Day where they cook alot and preform specific rituals on the statue to re-inact the rising of Mary. Even different types of Christianity include different rituals.
I think they are just as much of a religion as anything else. Other religions have rituals that don't make sense to people outside the religion, as someone who isn't a catholic might not understand the point of Baptism.
this is true becuase, most of all religions are all like each other in some ways more than others. -->Dante
ReplyDelete"Agreed, all religion is the same and pointless." I said.
