  1. Richard preston described how the great red wood forest along the california coast is slowly fading away. The trees are not like any other trees their daimeter can range from 25- 30 nfeet across. These trees provide a ecosystem for a select amount of animals. if these trees were destroyed they would no longer exist. I liked this because I think he was very emotionally attached and I agree with him. I want to read his book now because of this lecture.

  2. this lecture was about how the red wood forests are one of the mopst beautiful and vital things to keep and not to abolish the forest. They hold life that can only live in the forests and would be extinct if they werent there. they also are huge and irraplacable because of thier massive size and beuaty. they range from 25 - feet in diameter! which is huge and take a very long time to get that big. some of them are 500 years old. He gets very emotionally into it and i think that is how he can be very persuasive.
