This is a great project that I originally saw done by Tara Oswald at Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, Colorado.

We have completed a fun project with my 10th grade EAL class. We read children's books to the kindergarten class on the other side of the fort. First, however, my students recorded themselves reading the books as a screencast with the pages visible. This worked great because students could hear their own voices and listen to see where there were words they didn't pronounce correctly or Cyber Englishhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09505692206207795853noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5649950225048232677.post-62048886588210087522014-09-15T22:24:00.003-07:002014-09-15T22:29:05.098-07:00Imagine the PossibilitiesData collected on students at schools can create a profile from kindergarten through college. I felt like it was exciting while we were working on it, but who cares." Even when I got students published or when we created something really unique, it felt sort of like another school project.

I am very happy to announce that my spring 2012 American Literature class had their work published at Bookdrum.com. While reading Tim O'Brien's The Things They Carried, the class gathered and formatted information about the book, the setting, unknown cultural references, unknown words, and the author, and also wrote a book review. I am so proud of the work they put into this project.
